Wouldn't worry about replacing it...pheasants are ten a penny in the sticks. Bet nobody even notices its missing.

Pheasant flesh is quite soft. The glass should slide out without using a blade.

Seriously though...
The glass is bonded to the wing with mastic.
You need to remove the cowling first but sounds like you've done that. Make sure you mark the surround before removing the glass so that you get the lens back with the correct orientation and you may need a new rubber seal for round the glass.
