Brake Servo - Is There An Alternative
Discussion
Definitely a mk2 Capri...Some cortina mk3 had them as well..Shame ford was not a bit more like TVR...We might of had a wider parts store to choose from then..There must be an alternative..Even if one is found the armature will need to be cut and threaded to accommodate TVR's ingenious engineered design...
Also i doubt if Tickover will have one as i had the last one...Although its worth giving him a call..You never know...Just a thought...I see the repair kits are available and back in the day stuff was always getting refitted..When i was a rep for AP Lockheed the brake shoes..Pads...Clutch plates..RWC..S/C M/C Servo's were all retained and sent to the prospective manufacturers.. At the time we predominantly used Ferodo & Mintex as they were local...Maybe the rising in the east was responsible..And if not careful will be again.

Ended up getting this....could not believe how rare these are. Still think there's room for an alternative though.
After spending much time investigating I can confirm that the servo is DEFINATELY from a 1600 Capri (Mk2/3)/Cortina (Mk4/5) albeit the TVR one is modified so that the clevis pin on the pedal end is threaded to allow some adjustment.
The 2.0 Capri/Cortina servo is about 1 inch larger in diameter and therefore doesn't fit because it fouls on the bulkhead and also blocks where the throttle cable passes through - I know this because I've tried! The servo pipe location is also in a different place (about 2 o clock as opposed to the 1600 servo which has the servo pipe at 12 o clock).
The 2.8/3.0 servo is different again.
