Guys, I recently fulfilled a boyhood dream buying a 911 - a MY98 996 c2 tip in black to be precise and loving it.
Plenty of room for improvement which brings me onto my plea for help......

The spoiler rubber has split so I'm replacing - I've released the bottom part by removing the press studs, but how do you release the top part and any tips when replacing ?

Thanks for your help

Congratulations on your new car. I've also just bought a 996, and I have the same problem with mine.

Anyway, straight from the tech manual:

The top edge of the bellows is secured to the plastic frame by a metal rail/strip with bayonet-type fittings, sandwiching the bellows between the strip and the plastic frame. The rail must be slid to the right hand side to release it from the frame. A plastic expanding rivet at each end of the rail prevents it from sliding. Remove the rivets by pressing the central pin out of the rivet from above and removing the rivets from below. Slide the strip to the right to release the top edge of the bellows.

Hope this helps.
