Returning to Porsche ownership

So after a 20yr break from Porsche ownership I'm getting back up to speed gradually with current models and dealers.

My heart says aircooled but having seen the JZM website I'm loving the look of some more water cooled modern machinery.

So my question really is who's the best dealers to start talking to with these two variants ?

I'm based in Hampshire so Canford Classics may be a good starting point for me.

Really depends on what you want and what is available at each indie.

I'd have a look at:

- JZM
- 911 Virgin

And keep looking at the PH Classifieds.

Huge tks for this 911 Virgin I'd not previoisly considered .

Typically I remember the good times with my old 3.2 1986 911 but nowadays concerned about reliability issues hence looking at the more modern cars especially with kids on board.

I like the the charachter of the older cars so I'm trying to work out What Model will give me some old style experiences but not break down on a regular bass hence asking who is the best to deal with and actually who not to deal with !

Oddly enough 6 months back at a local classic car meet this dealers name was mentioned in not very favourably terms so was forewarned but good to be reminded.

I would not hesitate for a moment to buy a car from JZM. I had a pre purchase inspection done by them on a 997S and was massively impressed. The guy who actually inspected the car called me and spent 20 minutes on the phone going through it with me..even Steve McHale cleared up a few points. The woman on the reception even talked to me about what it entails to do a boroscope test!!!
Shows its a sound business with knowledge everywhere..,.a lot of people could learn from them and I am sure there are countless others like RPM who have a great name too...the dealer being spoke about above is not in the same class...by any stretch of any imagination.

Welcome. I suppose whether its going to be a daily drive or not or a fun Sunday drive. I guess also if you are thinking of aircooled then you have a decent budget as they are rocketing in value. Mind you my previous 993 was 15 years old & 996 turbo was 11 years old & both were my daily drive. I've had four Porsche's including three 911s. I currently have a 997 Gen 2 C2S which is great; although I really regret selling the 993 & 996 turbo.

I can also recommend Dovehouse - I have bought two Porsche's from them - they will really look after you.

This dealer will go beyond the call of duty and his cars are better than described

Disappointing really when we live in a country that has freedom of speach yet we are sworn to silience
Seems like its ok to harbour unscrupulous dealers and let the innocent members of the public get shafted!!

Yes Andrew to me a C2S may tick all the boxes add may add reliability to the equation.
I'll kerp an eye on Dovehouse website for current stock.
