Lights keep blowing - help

Headlights blew fuse. Would still flash main beam. Tried changing fuses - blew, methinks short. My capability with electrics is about zero so took to friendly garage with expert Tiv capability. They changed fuse - all ok ! Bugger. Week later lights go again. Push button to switch off and figer continues through veneer - double bugger.

Any ideas ?

I suspect that the problem is, or rather was, with the light switch itself as the lights would work with the flasher switch, but would blow the fuse when you used the main switch (which sounds like it is stuffed now anyway).
