Recycling Nespresso Pods

I've decided to be a good boy and recycle my used pods. Except after about 4 weeks I realised I had a bag of mold growing capsules ....

Does anyone recycle their pods (i.e. drop them in the green bags) ? and if so how do you stop them going moldy - since my previous error I've just been throwing them away but noticed them starting to go moldy in under a week (I normally ditch my kitchen bin bag in to my outside bin once a week). Just received my new pod order and have included some green bags in it.

I recycle my dolce pods... pierce the lid and drain out the liquid residue left inside before sticking in the recycle bin
