Egad! No Ultimate Farce? What on earth can we do?

I'm sure this came as a body blow to many PH students of the bard but this weekend's dearth of remarkable SAS larks in the land of Kempian incredulity was a slight against scriptalustistic zenithdom too far.

I was distraught at the non-appearence of this theatrical gem and no amount of classic Arnie on DVD could heal the wound.

Sunday evensong came and went and yet there was no salvation.

Worse still, the rumour seems to be that not even next weekend will our valliant heroes be stuff strutting.

Woe is me, the emptiness!

Chin up squire... The O.C. is back on Channel 4. Around 2pm on Sundays. Admire the girls, laugh at Seth and generally have a jolly good hour in front of the brain zapping tube.

What is the OC anyway? Seen them pushing it hard on C4 but I dont get it - actually not seen an episode yet, but pride myself or pre-judging almost anything on TV...

Bunch of richkids in Orange Country (effluent part of California). Basic storyline is Ryan is a kid from a poor part of town, runs away and meets Seth who is one of the richkids. Seth's family adopts Ryan and the first series is about Ryan falling for Seth's neighbour, Marissa, who's parents break up and Marissa's mum goes out with Seth's grandad... ...and breathe...

It's mindless entertainment... the girls in it are stunning and its very funny in places.

Bunch of richkids in Orange Country (effluent part of California). Basic storyline is Ryan is a kid from a poor part of town, runs away and meets Seth who is one of the richkids. Seth's family adopts Ryan and the first series is about Ryan falling for Seth's neighbour, Marissa, who's parents break up and Marissa's mum goes out with Seth's grandad... ...and breathe...

UK History channel 582/583 were showing the real exploits of the SAS over weekend, inlcuding all the missions during the Falklands war, inlcuding those that were cancelled at the last moment. Full reinactments along with period footage.

Examples, 45 SAS men launch a hit and run raid on the Argentine grass airstrip at Pebble Island (1500 Argentinians there too). All 11 Argentine aircraft are destroyed on the ground no casualties for the SAS.

Remember a Helicopter that landed in neutral Chile due to engine problems that was on the news? That was also an SAS mission. The helicopter had got an SAS team into mainland Argentina to attack Rio Grande airbase and destroy the Exocet armed Super Entenards that were causing losses to the Task Force. 2000 Argentinean marines start to comb the area hunting for the SAS team. The SAS commander aborted the mission and the SAS team crossed into Chile.

There were others too, amazing viewing.....not a hint ot cheeseyness, 100,000 round pistols or fake tans.
