Hi all,

Where's the best place to buy a digital camera online at the moment? Doing some research at the moment (leaning towards Sony Cybershop P150) but was wondering where is good for customer service/price?

Cheers

(Any other recommendations for good compacts like the Sony would be good too!)

If you're just going on price try Kelkoo-ing for it.

You can always ake the details along to your local Jessops to see if they will price match.

Also check pixmania.com and 7dayshop.com to see if they have the particular model in stock...

Personally, I'd go to your local shop. Explain what you want. Say the price you can get it online and tell them you're willing to pay a small premium to support a local business.

This works in two ways.

1) The local businesses keep going rather than faceless corporations taking over completely

2) If anything goes wrong, you can take it back and talk to someone. In the case of my D70's flash breaking, this proved very useful and i had a replacement in my hands within days.

Jessops will price-match online prices from the UK.

As the previous poster said, it's nice to have somewhere to take it back to for big ticket items like this...

If you like the idea of buying on-line (I have for some years with no regrets), then try www.pixmania.com.
They are based in Paris but give an excellent service with (if you require) even a pick-up shop in West London.
Their prices and service are first class. Even give a 2 year warranty. As a EU supplier and having already paid the French VAT, you have no more costs.
To date, I have bought 3 different digital cameras. No problems at all.
Fully recommended.
