Could be as simple as needs cleaning. Or drying out from water ingress from being cleaned.

When you say cleaning out do you mean one of the sensors
If so what is the best way to do it
Thanks

Yes, the 4 sensors in the rear bumper. Just wipe with damp cloth as first check

Coincidence, by DB9 is currently in at JCT600 Leeds for some work, dropped it off on Monday morning. Great service from them so far.

Regarding the parking sensors are you getting a fault with a flashing LED in your button, or is it giving you a continuous tone suggesting you are too close to something. Also you have a slightly different tone if you have front sensors so can tell if it's front or rears beeping. I found a similar thing on mine recently a continuous tone on the front sensors when there's nothing in front of them. The rears continue to work so its a bit of a mystery. I did notice the times this fault manifested itself the weather was hot and the car had been given a bit of a workout. Maybe this had some influence on it? Anyway it's not a problem at the moment so will just leave for now.

Regarding costs if you are paying main dealer labour and parts prices then it doesn't matter if it's as Aston or a Fiesta, it's always ridiculous. I think Aston's labour rate of £120/hour is reasonable relative to other lesser premium brand dealers.

Can you describe it a bit more please?
I've had two probe,Ms with the PDC, first one was that when it rained and I reversed, the warning squeal would come straight on and remain on until I changed gear. So a constant squeal, rear sensors. I checked then and found that one of the rear sensors was cracked, I replaced it myself, around £48.

Current issue is that when engaging reverse I get three second squeal which stops but no sensor works. To test them I out ignition at the engine run position, engaged reverse gear then went to each sensor with an Aston Martin
Tin approved toilet roll holder and held it close to the sensor listening for a clicking noise. Everyone clicked apart from the front offside. I've got a replacement at £48, £20 to spray it body colour, I'm going to fit it myself first sunny day.

Apparently it's very rare for the module to go. Can you check your sensors or maybe describe it more?

Or go with the diagnosis and bend over of course while the nice dealer empties your wallet a little more smile

Re. Module: I 'blew' my Parking Module a couple of years ago after going through a very deep puddle. When you turned it on, or engaged reverse it, normally made a long continous tone and the light flashed constantly. However, sometimes you would turn it on and it made a somewhat pained squealing noise and the light would glow constantly, sometime brightly and sometimes very dim. On this occasion a dealer diagnosed the fault and replaced the part, with the usual bill attached!

Re. sensors: one of mine failed last week (to diagnose one sensor stopped clicking) and the system when activated gave a constant tone for around three seconds and the red light flashed constantly. Ocassionally I have noticed that the sensors get confused when wet but the fault clears itself if dried out, either naturally or with a puff of air blow the water out.

Re. replacement parts: don't forget the system is a Jaguar one and the sensors and module have the Jaguar part numbers on and so can be sourced elswhere. For example, the replacement sensor I fitted last week was new off Ebay and cost £11.49, including post, etc. (description also states two year warrnaty unlike the dealers 12 month warranty). Fortunately mine was an inbound rear sensor and therefore didn't need painting and was easy (around five minutes) to fit.

I always have problems just after I wash the car, a good wipe over with a microfiber tends to sort it.

Hi all

Sorry to dig up an old thread l. I'm having problems with my parking sensors. The systems comes alive as soon as i turn the ignition on and i get the long beep. (I'm not in reserve just park). I can turn it off without issue. I have tried listens for the click from the sensors and I cant hear anything. Also to try and see if a reset would work i pulled the fuse... but when doing so the system is still getting power! Have I got a odd wired car?!

If its the module I can try and replace but any help would be great

P.s. car is a 2005 db9 with 19k miles

Hi all
in a DB9 with automatic ZF gearbox, how do you want to put it in reverse (with the engine running otherwise impossible) and get out of the car to listen to the sensors clicking ?
If I get out, it goes backwards by itself ! mad

You can listen for a faint click. Obviously a two person job for an auto (can it be put in reverse without the engine running?)

Thanks for answer

Ignition on (engine not running), select reverse, then go listen to the sensors for clicking.

You cant select reverse unless the engine is running?
