don't need parking sensors buzzing at me as soon as i turn the key when parked near a wall- can anyone advise the (correct?!) way to disable the damn things?

I have no idea. This is a "Mazda MX5/Eunos/Miata" forum so you would be better off asking in Jap Chat.

On my Merc there is a button on the dashboard that turns it off. Doesn't the Mazda have anything like that?
