Cold calling by companies you are already a custom

Why do they do this, just had a call from the national bloody gas company, for the 10th time in a year, wanting to expand my boiler cover to my kitchen..

If i want it expanding.. I'll call you.

In my opinion its far worse when a company of which you already are a customer of calls you like this!

Not related, but you reminded me of a call I recently had.

"Hello... Out of the following, which interests you the most. Patio. French Door, or a Porch."
"I dont find any of those things intersting"
"Do you have any of them already"

Pause to think, and picture my house...

"yeah all of them"

Hangs up. Superb, I was so glad one hung up on me for a change.

My boiler is covered by them, thats the point..

The very fact that I have biohazard suits hanging on my kitchen door should tell you what i think about my Kitchen..

Add to the list cold calling from companies that you used to be a customer of, but have fallen out with due to contractual problems!

I get regular spam from the company I work for, via my work address!! - don't know why they don't just dump it on our exhange server
