Hi
I have been restoring my 450 Chimaera over the last 7 months and now find the hood which looked ok when I bought the car now looks tatty on the newly painted body and re trimmed interior it also isn't a great fit tbh
I wondered if anyone local to me has has a good experience with a local trimmer when replacing the chimaera hood. I live just outside ashby de la zouch Leicestershire. As I still have a fair bit to do on the car I didnt want to travel far, and I don't think the hood will be water tight as it stands.
I would prefer to go on recommendation rather than take a chance. It doesn't look a difficult job but as with most things it's the execution of the detail which makes the finished item look good
Any pointers appreciated
Many thanks
Glyn

I just had my Tuscan Convertible hood renewed by D&C Trim in Blackpool. No. not too local to you, I know.

They have done a great job of renewing the fold down parts as well as recovering the hard section outer and inner as well as seals.
With the respray, it really finishes off the car.

Thanks chaps
D&C did all my leather work for the interior and the carpets they are top blokes. I stuffed all of that into the wifes motor to and from Blackpool smile I was hoping to get someone local in the Midlands as the car isn't finished completely so a long trip wasn't on the cards if that makes sense. I have had a quote of Dave the trimmer but he is 70 plus miles too frown And they both need the car for two or three days which adds to the issues of getting it there and back and trips to and from.

Anyone have any experience of a decent Midlands trimmer for Hoods? I have found a few googling but obviously recommendation is the best way to go with this sort of thing
Cheers Glyn

anyone used Car and Coach trimming in nottingham, he said he did a Chim last week? Anone on here?
Also has anyone used Aldridge trimming in wolverhampton they actually make the hood on site as opposed to buying them in, they also have a good reputation for triumphs and jaguars etc.
Cheers

+1, I only had my rear window replaced but it was a top job professional service. If my hood ever goes then that's where I'm going to get it replaced.
