I know some of you guys are against fitting non AM parts but if I have been having issues with my fans so I cleaned out the blower motors and decided to fit new pollen filters.

The dealer wanted £50 for a pair. Whilst rummaging around the blower motor I saw it was a Denso unit, I also spotted the resistor was off an RX8. Naturally this meant that the unit must be off an RX8 which led me to this .

I replaced mine very recently, stuck with OEM for convenience since I was ordering a few things. The filters measure 9" x 8.25" x 7/8" side-by-side. Measured in inches, didn't think to grab cm while I was at it. Next time I change them, I'll probably look for non-OEM options.

Could you please clarify why using an RX8 resistor would suggest the cabin filters are also from an RX8?

The charcoal filters are also far more effective than the standard paper elements.

Because the blower was also from an RX8, so I kinda assumed that the whole unit was pulled from an RX8 as the resistor is very odd looking and quite unique. The hole that the resistor goes into is pretty unique also.

Then I measured the RX8 filters and the Aston Martin filters and they were 100% the same down to the MM.

I can confirm that the Mazda RX8 cabin filter fits perfectly. Just replaced mine a few months ago.

Oddly enough this thread has come up in google results whilst I was looking for a replacement rx8 cabin filter.

I bought a new one for my RX8 that's not OEM (like in the ebay link in the OP) and have thrown it out after only using it for one trip as the difference between that and my five year old genuine one is night and day, with the cheap replacement I can smell the countryside and also the exhaust from the car, the genuine Aldehyde filter works so much better (it's over a hundred times more effective than a charcoal filter).

The part number is LDY361J6X and it's definitely worthwhile to spend the extra on a genuine Mazda part imo as it makes the driving experience so much more pleasurable.
