having just had the system fitted by Gert....what do people tell their insurance companies? The system is a modified standard exhaust so how do I explain that? Or is it even noticeable from the outside/relevant???

I had the carnewal exhaust put on, told my insurance company (Admiral) they asked if it resulted in power gains, I said no (which it doesnt). They gave me two options 1. The premium is unaffected but the aftermarket exhaust would not be covered if damaged, and 2. Pay a £20 extra to have all aftermarket mods covered. I went for option 2. Hope that helps.

If ever there was a modification that you could 'get away with' not declaring, this is it.

Even the best insurance investigator would only see a standard Porsche exhaust, with the original part number stamped on.

Depends whether you want to have it covered for replacement or not really.

What do you think of the exhaust so far Tiggsy?

Would be interested in your initial impressions as it's modification I will consider if I decide to keep my car much longer.
