Hi

Does anyone have a DB9 with a X-pipe? I'm interested to know the change in the exhaust note and any comment.

Thank you

Daniel

My 07 DB9 has a Fab-Speed X pipe with a quicksilver supersport exhaust. Yea it's a little louder than pulling fuse 22 biggrin but I'm very happy with the note. I recently had the heater/seat recall done. The main Tech at the dealership commented it was the closest note he had heard to a One77 exhaust. I took it as a complement!

Thank you.
Did you change both parts at the same time? If not, how might you describe the change the x pipe made?

I think I'm looking for the same 'sound' you are. Standard exhaust you basically have 2 six cylinders coming out the back. Yes it is a nice sound but I've wondered how much smoother having all 12 coming out together would sound.

Anyone know any 12 cylinder vehicles that come from the factory with the exhaust crossed over?

The X pipe alone was a nice change (upgraded note IMO) to the exhaust note with the valves on the stock exhaust box "open". I was looking for a little more and ran it without adding the Quicksilver for a time. I would have one or the other for sure. I'm happy with the combination of both.

Doesn't the silencer at the rear of the car merge the exhaust gas from each bank?

All BMW V12's have a "resonator" that combines both banks into one silencer before exiting the twin rear silencers. The cars boom badly through the floor if this is deleted.

A friends Ferrari 550 (v12) has x pipe.

My old BMW 645 (v8) had x pipe and when MIJ Exhausts in Solihull made me new backboxs they said removing the x pipe will result in a much sharper, loader noise and he recommended against it.

I actually think Aston are in the minority not putting in a balance pipe or cross pipe.
