selling a sucsefull eBay store/account ?

Anyone ever done this, not looked into it but hearsay as it you cant transfer ownership of account, tentatively looking at retirement and considering selling, don't want to be greedy stock at value and a little for fixtures/fittings maybe ?

Its the transfer of account ownership that may be a sticking point, great reputation huge feedback score be a shame to let it disappear ?

Busy amazon store too, can they be transferred ?

Thank you for the info, its not the route we are thinking of to be honest, current thinking is transfer ownership to a current employee, (been with us from day one) and he keeps us on the books as "employees" until such time as the agreed purchase price is paid, make sense, too simplistic, possible ?

In my just sold biz we had 5 Amazon countries and 3 eBay ids plus 3 websites - the buyer wanted the eBay ids and Amazon accounts over the sites.
Thing is it's a pain opening an ID now and growing it with so much competition.

I have sold to a huge ebay / amazon seller already they are so "well in" with them its not an issue to them but it might be to smaller sellers. That said I changed the name on our account to my management accountant a few months ago and that was no big deal, the interesting thing I guess is when they change the VAT number - that wont be for a while I think (as I sit clearing my office and the warehouse is being cleared out ready for trading at the new place on Monday)
