Hi there

Right, I need a multifunction printer. Prints, scans, faxes, and phone/answerphone if possible (although not critical).

Budget is £100 - £300, I'm VAT registered so thats not a worry.

I'd prefer not to buy Epson, I have an epson printer now and its rubbish.

I'm running a Hewlett-Packard 7140xi. Has colour printer, colour photocopier, fax, scanner and is network-ready, although there is a cheaper version that is USB-only if you prefer.
Very fully-featured, including multiple card readers for camera media (eg. memory sick, SmartMedia, CF, etc.)

Am very happy with it so far.

Thats the front-runner at the moment.

Unfortunately none of them have an answerphone capability, but thats not the end of the world, I'll just buy a cheapo one with a tape machine.

That's basically my 7140xi but without the extra paper hopper and without the plug-in network print server.
Both can be added to the 7110 as optional accessories at a later date if you subsequently need them.

I have a 7110 and its great. Print quality is good and photo prints come out very well (but only with the best paper). Its fast, economical and fully functional.

Works a treat and recommended.

I know it's too late now, but I would have recomended the Brother MFC620CN. It's a printer, copier, scanner, fax, answerphone and card reader. It is network capable out of the box and has a small footprint. About £160.

Thanks, but reading reviews of Brother equipment on Amazon didn't give me much confidence.....

I'am looking for something similar.

Don't need fax but could do with either colour laser, or B&W Laser with extra paper trays.
