Does this sound like gastroenteritis?

Wednesday evening, I start feeling really cold and shivery. The when I go to bed really hot and clammy.
End up passing more or less water in the early hours.
Thursday I go to work, although every 40 minutes or so I go and pass some more liquefied you-know-what.
Thursday night all night, every hour or so, awful cramps and up every hour or so. Decide to take Friday off.
Friday during the day some frankly stabbingly torrid cramps every 40 minutes with passing more or less water. Lying on the sofa, sudden sore neck which doesn't disappear until I go to bed early evening.
Saturday feel a bit better, although with cramps still and less watery you-know-what. Start to get hungry and eat quite a bit. Cramps disappear and feeling generally better.
Overnight into Sunday, up every couple of hours at least, watery again.
Today, feeling more sickly again, slight cramps, very watery again, pain at the top of my neck/behind my ears.
I'm keeping hydrated and eating, but don't want to be a man and sit on something if I should really see someone about it. Does it just sound like gastroenteritis?

You need to send a stool sample off to the lab to identify the offending bug. Most gastroenteritis is viral and will pass in 24 to 48 hours without treatment. Some of the bacterial stuff can require antibiotics. Book in with your GP tomorrow to arrange for samples to be sent.
