Someone did explain to me once just how this thing worked, but I've forgotten! Yes, 'nine' did figure in it somewhere!

It seems clever the first few times around, but once you figure out how it does it, it's pretty straight forward.

Symbols changing is a clue, thought it might also introduce a deliberate error every few goes to make it seem more credible. Must brush up my boy scouts badge in adding and taking away
