Dave, I only just remembered that the lady told us during the briefing that the (spag)bowl was limited at 100 mph…
God I did not realised that a Cerbera or Sagaris could be driven that slowly on a track …?
Spanked the lot with the good old girl (1996 TVR Chimaera 500)!

Hey, regards to the guy who spent their time cleaning the s
t from their TVRs getting them shiny like a new coin, engine bay cleaner that my fridge, remember guys, those cars have been made to be driven properly… (I’m making some friends here).
Also the other lot, “mine does 316 bph or mine does 322”, or “I want to make more noise” or “mine is louder than yours” or the guys with the nice stickers “Porches are for girls and so on…”, etc… remember, take your cars out and give it some beans, press the “loud pedal” and not only when parked to show us that yours is louder / more powerful, etc….
Remember, those fast cars have been made to be driven fast (where and when it’s safe), not in villages, there are kids around (I always respect the speed limit in villages, I have a 2 year old son and have been run over by a car when I was 5…).
Now boys, get your cars shiny, get them louder and more powerful, but put your boot where your mouth is: “pedal to the metal” (well to the plastic, this is what our cars are made off, right?).
Remember: “my TVR is more powerful than yours (only joking (de-catted manifolds and de-catted “Y” piece being fitted next week)), louder than yours (joking too) and she revs to 11,000 (like in Spinal tap).

140 with the roof down is good work. I did 140 in mine roof up, it was a little bit twitchy at that speed.
Different strokes for different folks I suppose, I agree with you I like driving mine, it is not concourse and it is not the quickest but I enjoy it. I think some owners geniunely get as much enjoyment out of polishing and some seeing how much BHP they can squeeze out.

We're not in the mirrors under your car club and we don't have Union Jack cushions or cuddly toys in our TVRs.
For us it's all about the drive

Assuming that the 100mph limitation was not rescinded on the day (in which case disregard this post): This is exactly the sort of selfish behaviour that caused Mrs. Number 7 to give up participating in trackdays - TVR drivers who think the rules as explained in the briefing don't apply to them.
I don't regard myself as spoilsport, but I assume that all of the cars that were passed were sticking to the rules, hence why it was so easy to overtake. What makes you so special?

Chimpy and frenchie ... flagrant disregard for the 100 mph rule notwithstanding (you should have your pants taken down and be given 40 lashes with the cat-o-nine-shredded-fanbelts for that) I'm completely with you on the 'get out and enjoy them' thing ... I took mine to a well-known indie around the Guildford area once and he came out to take a look at it. There she sat - dirty as you'd want your wife to be - surrounded by shining and pristine examples of the marque.

For the nanny state amongst you may I suggest watching the clip again and you'll see we passed at least three pace cars full of officials, there were also a host of high viz boys on the wall of the bowl.
All these guys are fully radioed up, as were the guys you have to pass on the way out of the bowl, some even had speed guns.
I'm pretty sure if they thought Frenchie and I were driving in a way that put others in danger they would have brought us in for a stern talking to. The truth is at no time were we red flagged and no such lecture was given.
My guess is the officials were saying "look at that Chimaera go, they must be having the time of their lives" (which we were BTW).
Really sorry to the kill joys that we used the day to have fun, looking at your comments can I respectfully suggest you may well have bought the wrong car
