black roofline rubber strips
Discussion
Hi,
I came back from holiday last week and found that the car cover had been chewed and ripped in places. On removing the cover I found a lot of fine scratches that polished out, but also the 4 black rubber strips that run front to back either side of the roof rack mounting points had been pushed all the way in.
From the size of the strips, I suspect either crows or oyster catchers (both live locally) as they are the only birds large enough with a pointed beak. So the question is, are these strips decorative or do they prevent water access to anything significant? That is whether I try to pry them back out as necessary, or leave them alone?
Cheers,
Graham
