How do you value Porsche(s) you've owned?

Everyone has their favorite Porsche(s) they've owned and sold.

I hear a lot of people who've owned and sold cars saying they wouldn't pay today's prices.

Mine would be a 3.2 Carrera, owned two they were both sub 20k and I'd still buy the right car for £35k.

Forgetting the current values (prices could go up or down), what would you pay for a good condition example (who's bought again at a substantially higher price)?

912 - up to £10,000
911 2.4S - up to £15,000
911 SC Targa - up to £15,000
911 SC Sport - up to £10,000
964 RS up to £20,000

993 Polar Silver Coupe - up to £25,000
993 Targa Tip - up to £30,000

996 C2 coupe, Targa or Turbo £25,000

997 Targa up to £30,000

Any Cayman, up to £30,000

911 Magnus Walker style, or Singer up to £35,000

I found the RS too loud, uncomfortable and a struggle to drive.

The 993 Targa Tip is a small car you can take anywhere and drive fast or slow, it's a much cooler car in my eyes.

996 Targa must be even better, but I've never had the pleasure.

That's an interesting list, here's my observation on it

The 996c2 for £15k is the bargain drivers car

I reckon a 96.2 gt3 is more than 10k over a 964 as a driving experience

How come you rate a 7 gt3 £15 kover the 6 ?

The best was my 996RS by far. Bought for 50, sold for 55, if I had the money, I'd have it back at a big price.

Joint worst was my 993 targa, maybe in fact slightly better than my 930 turbo targa. At least the roof on the 993 was good, but what a dull whale of a car. Both around the 30k mark when I sold them. Wouldn't buy them back.

Trick one was my 73 RS rep. Full on rep with proper RS MFI motor which was a hoot. Sadly the bodyshell even though fully restored was completely shagged. Sold for 50k, have it back at 50 or 80 with the shell changed.

Hindsight a wonderful thing. Who knows what they're worth but this is what I have owned and paid for them in order of preference:

944 turbo se List
944 S2 List
3.2 Carrera £35k
964 C2 Coupe £54k
997 turbo list
986 Boxster S List
986 Boxster S 550 List
944 cab List
930 coupe 1984 £18k

I'd like a 997 GT2 for trackdays but pricing ott imo unless you're an investor

The 928 was always in the garage with electrical problems. Bert, I'd agree, the 993 Targa in Tip form is a bit of a dull whale. 993's feel heavy to me even without two tons of glass above your head.

I'm actually breaking my own rules as it was about cars you've owned, but I think decided to do a future list.

I think in driving terms I'd agree with you a 996 GT3 would be well above the 964, but I don't think I could pay more than £45k for one. I'd probably put a 997.1 GT3 at £55k, but I'd probably stretch to £60k as it dynamically and visually moved the game on. All hypothetical anyway.

I was really interested if there were models people would pay extra to get back into!
