Had a new website up and running a few months but I would like some of you guys to be brutal in your critique of it.
It does well and its a niche product, but its more the look and the feel of it.
I did this a while ago when I created the site, this one is an upgrade using a developer rather than me as I didn't have the time to code it from scratch.
There are a few additions going in, but they are new bits, I want to make sure its ok for the normal punter as I think its good and the developer has done a good job, but 2nd opinions are great.

that's really nice.
scales really nicely. well thought out menus etc, easy to use.
just need more stuff to sell
(I usually am quite harsh to new sites in looking for flaws, but this is good!)
having a bit more of a look, it's a decent paid-for wordpress build, so you'll be able to manage everything on there pretty easily too.

OK
Brutal mode on
The slides which is where my eye focuses give very little clue as to what you sell - it's all just blah blah
I would use these to showcase your products and then have a blah blah slide at the end
Too much white space at the top
No easily visible phone number
"Click in to be introduced to the" - that's awkward
None of the links to products work on this page http://nordeco.co.uk/shop/
Checkout is sleek although County says "Make a selection" and I can't
I would not have Ship to a different address selected as the default
Thumbnails are oddly cropped in the Gallery
The lightbox is rubbish e.g. (the popup is smaller than the thumbnail)

It screams "Wordpress Theme" to me and I must say that over 1000 lines of code before the </head> tag seems like an awful lot.
Well photographed products though and I'd have no hesitation in buying from you. One thing I would do is hide the product reviews link on product pages where there are no reviews.

Cheers for that, not something I saw when testing on Chrome/macbook or what the developer saw.
However my macbook has since been rebuilt and I lost chrome, I have done a refresh of chrome now and I see the above, the developer still sees a fully working site, so Im wondering if chrome default settings is stopping the css from being properly loading on start up.
Will update, as I did ask for all the combinations of O/S and Browser to be tested.

just noticed your login page also isn't using https. you should be forcing https anywhere that customers are posting data (e.g. username and pw, address details).
Hmm... developer company runs the hosting so that is really something they should be doing, plus ssl certification is not something they mentioned as they said that security was all sorted, so not sure why its just on chrome that its having issues. Will have a word.
the issue is not with chrome, if you hit the site using https on any browser you will get a warning. this warning is because the certificate is not valid for your domain.
a seperate issue is that the login and checkout pages do not force https. this means that someone entering their login name and password (over http and not https) sends them over an unencrypted connection meaning their credentials could be intercepted and compromised. you NEED to get this sorted.

It is an issue with Chrome, anything after version 43 seems to have this issue, so if any web developers out there, try using version 44 onwards, you might want to look at the websites you maintain.
My Developer has just been saying several choice expletives now that he has seen it first hand, they have gone into damage limitation mode and checking everything the company maintains as it could affect them all.
