There are some excellent pics about the anniversary, but also this one, bottom right corner of this page - http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/articles/2nSVM3gcT...
I think this ia a still from the film `The Longest Day` where a 108 trainer was used instead of the 109 - I told them a couple of days ago but it`s unchanged.

I don't think it detracts from what they are trying to do on the page. Only eagled eye spotters will notice.

It's definitely a 108. 108s have often stood in for 109s in films and sometimes at airshows as well. That photo looks more like an airshow picture to me.

Indeed, it may not even be a genuine 108 but one of the French licence built Nord 1002 copies - if you want to be really picky.

It's a pity that a service that is supposed to report fact not only fails to do so (ignorant journos) but fails to correct it when the mistake is pointed out. It belittles the whole article.

But it's not reporting fact it's advertising an event that you can buy tickets for. So it's a promotional piece.
