Where to buy Olympic weights?

Looking to buy some Olympic weights, not bothered if they are new or used and struggling to find any at what seems a sensible price?

Amazon have a set for £200 which has 80kg and a 7ft or 6ft pole, just wondering if any one has any sites that is cheaper than this?

Not concerned about brands but they must be Olympic and vinyl tri grip, I've tried eBay and gumtree with nothing really standing out for the distance I would have to drive to collect.

I'm after probably two sets to get me started, a 6ft pole a 7ft pole and around 200-250kg in mixed weights. Sold all my other kit when we moved out and looking to replace its Olympic now.

If you're looking for that kind of weight, you'll soon regret buying any kind of cheap bar. More I'd be wary of most brands of tri-grip weights, as I've found they can be very optimistic not to mention variable in regard to claimed weight. At the kind of total weight you want, unless you're very lucky with a 2nd hand sale / auction, you won't find anything to meet your needs sub-£200. Sorry.

I'd advise you look into getting a good general purpose powerlifting bar with reasonable spin. A bushing bar should be fine, you probably don't need a bearing bar (which are usually horrifically expensive). This will allow you to do all the powerlifting movements and will last for years.

Weights-wise I'd recommend buying rubber bumper plates, with a few steel plates up to 20kg or so to top up for squat and deadlift. You don't have to get the expensive colour-coded ones. The advantage of bumpers is that the weights will be pretty close to accurate, they allow the bar to sit at the correct shin height for practicing deadlifts and cleans, and you can drop the bar without causing any damage.

For my own home setup I bought everything I wanted from Rogue Europe (excellent service and fast delivery even from Finland), but there are some UK shops which should be able to help, and arguably have a wider selection of bars. Rogue and Gymratz sometimes sell seconds items at a big discount.

Powerhouse fitness has a decent range from cheapish to expensive.
If you can wait till something turns up on ebay or gumtree you could save a small fortune though.
