S3 and V8S door mirrors

Gents,
The little servo motor that runs the vertical plane adjustment on my door mirror went t*ts up.
'Phoned various likely suppliers, and the best quote I got was for a complete mirror from a breakers at £80 + VAT.
However, I tried my local Euro Parts in Southampton, and they can still get brand new CX mirrors from Citroen UK at the amazing price of £60.34 + VAT. Obviously, the plastic shell is unpainted, but it still comes with the mounting spider, wiring loom etc....totally complete!
A main dealership quoted me >£140 for the same thing!! The sales guy, when I mentioned the difference in prices, suggested that Citroen may be trying to get rid of old stock....but do I care??
Have seen a few posts for these mirror parts...so if anyones looking, I've got one for sale minus the servo sub-assembly

I think you'll find that most suppliers have no stock and it's been the same for a couple of years now.

I just had a root through some old clobber but alas, I cant find my old mirror. The mounting was broken but the innards worked ok. I may have chucked it out, Im not sure but if/when I find it its yours foc. On the upside whlist rooting I unearthed some fireworks I didnt know I still had

Wildfire, where did you get your spare from before selling it to me? I was lucky, they are like hens teeth, and the only one available belonged to Chris who happened to have the left side cooper green I needed!

Thanks for the offer, but I am sorted now - as I said, I've got a completely brand new mirror, and will just take the servo motor/gimbal assembly out of it.
So - what I want to get rid of is the casing and the alloy frame and door mounting spider....as mine is ok and painted the correct colour. (Apparently, it is the most aerodynamic door mirror ever produced...according to Citroen)

Just for info, I did ask how many Citroen still have in their UK parts depot (Slough?) -couldn't get a specific number, but I didn't have the last one!

HOWEVER HATE THOSE TINY MIRRORS ON THE DOORS..AM I RIGHT IN THINKING THAT THE CITREON DOOR MIRRORS WILL FIT PERFECTLY?

Unfortunately, it's not possible to upgrade to the CX mirrors as they sit in a recess in the door which isn't present on the earlier models.

LeeBee used to do a conversion kit, thats's if you can get hold of him !!!
