What was the final cost to your door as i keep thinking it would be a good idea to have a spare set for the inevitable future.

I also checked the number on the lens against my car and they seem correct. There seems to be only the one set called Compact 80 so time will tell.

The cost

The Narva Compact 80 kit: $103.00
Shipping: $64.05
Total: $167.05

Total in GBP (current exchange rate): £78.96
Import duty: £100.00
Total to my door: £178.96

That's too much duty.

$167.05 @ 2.0493 = £81.51

Duty at 2.7% for vehicle lighting is £2.20. As this is under the minimum collectable, it would be £0.00

VAT @ 20% of £81.51 is £16.30

You'll also have an admin charge, but £100 for the lot is too much.

Query it with them, and tell them that car lights should be classified under 8512 2000 90.

It's their mistake, so they should make a free reclaim on your behalf, and you should get at least £50 back. smile

Thanks for the heads up on that mate, I've submitted a query asking for it to be investigated and where possible, refunded. I did think it was a bit high.

I still cannot understand why you guys keep buying these at this price, when in the past I told you that the fog lamps can be got in Europe on internet that will fit and are a tenth of the price.

Yes I said tenth of price,(£17.odd)for two.

Just shows if you take a bit of time, and I bet mine will last longer because there must be a issue with the glass on originals for so many to keep breaking.

Hmm, a good effort but I think I'll stick with a like for like replacement i.e. Narva, that's just my personal preference.

I think that the real problem here, is those who want an original and direct replacement, and those who want something of the same size, to fill the hole.

Here is the type of lamp, but this is from USA, search to find nearer supplier.

HID-B2071-A-J on Ebay

Hope this helps, and it does fill the hole almost perfect, no one noticed difference yet when fitted to car.

There's either a mistake or the agent is ripping you off. I'd like to take a look at the paperwork and be getting that hundred back.
