New stereo fitted
Discussion
I popped in to my local 'ice' suppliers yesterday and wound up parting with a not inconsiderable sum to replace my original blaupunkt tape player.
I am really pleased with the result. I got a Becker single cd head unit and it looks the knackers, it is exactly what I was after - subtle, no flashy gimicky lights, easy controls and above all a high quality, clear sound!
Thanks to a mate who I went with (who knew one of the fitters there) I got a Becker head unit and a new set of infinitys for the doors (existing speakers had rotted away from their cage) for £355 all in (RRP would have been £800 ish
).
Great result and I could recommend the Becker units to anyone else who wants quality without the gismos and gadgets to get in the way!

The one I had fitted is a 'Becker Mexico Pro', just checked the box.
Only real difference to the pic above is mine has an orange display (fits in better with my old style dash).
The new becker model they had in store may have had a blue display, its Bluetooth'able, and would have stung around £1100...
