Saw this a few years back, have no idea what it's called, anyone know?

70's film, man in American muscle car, driving fast and being pursued across a couple of states for some reason, all the time listening to a black chap broadcasting to him on local radio station and playing tunes. Has adventures on the way, including meeting a naked girl riding a motorcycle (quite memorable..). Film, and driver's life, ends with him crashing into a roadblock made of bulldozers.

I didn't make it up, honest........

Andy Andy Andy.....tut tut.......any self-respecting PistonHead would not own up to 'not knowing' what this film was called!!

My child, consider yourself a sinner......buy the film on 8mm/Video/laserdisc/DVD whatever.....cherish it and view it and you will have washed away your sins....

you may also be interested in another film about the same time as Vanishing Point, it involves a group of theives stealing cars to order. One chap gets ratted on to the cops and they try to arrest him as he steals a yellow mustang, what then follows is a rather lovely car chase.

Primal Scream also like this film rather a lot.

They named an album after it...

Please see that you do. I thought this was a wind up when I read your post at first then to my horror realised that you were serious!

Any self respecting PistonHead over the age of 21 should have the name of this film/plot/main characters emblazoned upon their mind.

Please purge yourself of these sins by thrashing your own back with the alternator belt from a Dodge Charger intill it really hurts!

Now you sound like 'The Kurgen' in the Highlander!...there's Evil afoot here

Seriously......VP should be in the top 3 of all car afficianado's film collections......it Starred Barry Newman as Kowalski(of Petrocelli fame) and Cleavon Little as the DJ Super-Soul (he of Sherrif Bart fame in Blazzing Saddles)

please do a search for Vanishing Point in all forums for more biblical references.........Every PistonHead has a bit of Kowalski in thier soul, brother Andy!

Surely better to use a belt from a Challenger?

Also see a film also starring Barry Newman called "Fear is the key", has a good car chase sequence at the start.
