Well, the laws of physics must be different on German Autobahn then. (Incidentally with a better safety record than in the UK).
This type of sweeping statements from officials just for show do not do anyone any favor, same as the anti drug policies of the past 'There is no soft drugs, a joint or shooting up heroin is the same thing'.
Driving at 150 mph is not a sensible thing in the UK, but
these types of ridiculous statement just discredit the whole thing really.....

Those two statements above are somewhere between seriously misleading and complete nonsense.
Unfortunately twerps like Ms Brydie (I'm pretty sure she'll be a Ms!) get a lot of publicity and many people will believe what she says.

I wouldn't disagree with that, unless you can find virtually deserted stretches of motorway.
Part of the difficulty though is that if you mention 150 mph to someone they picture you doing that speed everywhere, failing to realise that in a typical journey speed varies over a fairly wide range.
Mine normally varies between zero and 110.

Sadly, these people are not speaking from experience, so they do not know that a well built car on a smooth road with good visibility is actually quite controllable.

Streetcop - the number of places 150 is attainable is not in question. The place where the perpetrator was caught was obviously one of those places - it had to have been a fairly straight and long road for the rozzers to bust him.
We don't knoe the particular circumstances, we're only commenting on the rash, misinformed generalisation which adds to the speed kills dogma that is choking us ever more.

Typical of hand-wringers who see a law created for cars that struggled to 70 mph with swing-arm suspension and drum brakes to be more important than the laws of physics.
I suppose, going off their logic, that every racing car must be utterly undrivable and every race must result in the death of anyone who ventures over 70. Hopeless.
Then again, I can't honestly think of any places in Britain where it would be sensible to do 150 mph.

If you drove a car into a crowded street at 150mph, you would most definately kill many more than firing a shotgun parallel along it! Even if the shotgun was loaded with SG, LG shot or solid slug!
The moral to this is. Dont fire your shotgun into a crowded street unless its pointing upwards.
Don't drive your car at 150mph down a crowded street if there are people standing in the way!!!
