Techniques TVR, Stotfold. Feedback?

It's time for a 12,000 mile service and as my Chimaera is my everyday car I need to find somewhere that can do the work in a day, is fairly local and reasonable on cost (am I asking too much.
I saw an ad in Sprint for a company called 'Technique' in Stotfold (Beds/Herts?) which is not too far away from me. Has anybody used them and if so would you be prepared to give feedback, PM if you'd rather.
Any other suggestions? The only dealer I've ever met was Peninsula and though they're very, very nice people they're also a long, long way from where I live. Still might be worth the trip though.

I have noticed their advert in Sprint for the last few months. They are closer to me than Offords so I would also be interested to hear any views. There is also a place in Saffron Walden (MW Restorations) who do servicing (and are offering hardtops for Griffiths/Chimaeras), anyone used them?
Have to say though I have used Offords for the last 8 years or so and am happy to stay with them.

Topcats racing should be near enough to you. They are busy though, so doing the work in a day might be difficult.
I've heard this before from other dealers and don't understand this. If a car is booked in for a straightforward service how can they not specify when it will be ready? Surely a service can easily be completed in one day?
As for the companies mentioned I'll report back. Just had a pleasant surprise in that it's not due quite yet so may be a month or two.

There is always more to be done than just the service items, and there are always gits like me who break down and they pull out all the stops to get the car back on the road, buggering up others service schedules

What's wrong with asking for a service, getting the car back so it can be used and arranging to have any extras sorted out at a later date?

Ah the vagaries of TVR servicing!!!
Yes it is possible to request that only the actual items listed as part of the service are completed. However with TVR’s there are nearly always other items of work that become apparent during a service. Most owners don’t want to incur the cost and inconvenience of having to come back, have the car dismantled again to access the area on the car that needs the work when the work could be done while in for a service. You also have the ‘bespoke issue’ of TVR’s to deal with even during a service, there are very few TVR’s exactly alike in the way that they have been built.
