It's the 'Plane Sailing' Catalina. Based at Duxford since 2004, so not that far from home...

You can own a share in the aircraft. A great bunch of individuals.

I've paid my donation to have a nosey around on board. It's a lovely old bus run by a nice bunch of guys.

Canadian Vickers is the manufacturer rather than it being a Canadian based aircraft. The G- prefix in the registration shows it's a British registered aircraft. I had a look inside it at the Farnborough air show a few years ago. Friendly bunch I seem to remember we covered a multitude of non aircraft topics during the conversation...

We probably just missed each otehr.

I bought the Airfix Catalina from their fund raising stand to give them a few bob - as well as making my donation to get on board.

A white Catalina flew over our house in Retford yesterday afternoon. Presumably the same one. Maybe had a stop at Gamston?

Catalina was the first Airfix kit I built.

By modern standards, the Airfix kit is pretty crude. The more modern Academy kit is a bet better bet really. I only bought it as a means of giving the Catalina group a bit more money.
