Can somebody please post the link to the site that shows areas likely to flood?

I'm thinking of moving and would like to check whether I'm going to need sandbags or not.

Thanks for that, might need a bag or two from time to time.

Take the maps with a slight pinch of salt. Best bet would be to talk to neighbours in the area you are looking at. The maps whilst giving an idea of where flooding may happen, are not truely accurate. It is just unfortunate that the insurance companies rely on them!!

If you're in Cheltenham you're OK. The council have just carved up around half the town centre parks to defend against a flood we've never had and are unlikely to ever have.

I always do Environmental Surveys for clients when purchasing.

Had one last year where it said their property was in danger of flooding. Okay so it's only about 50 meters from the river. It’s also about 50 meters higher than the river FFS!

Same happened to my dad- had to send the insurers a photo of the 200-foot drop at the end of his garden to convince them that this wasn't likely.

My village, on the other hand...

(the police are putting up a "road closed" sign for those for whom this was not already obvious)
