It was a terrible shock, a couple of days ago, to discover that this lovely lady is no longer with us. After all 72 is no age these days.
Younger members of the PH community may only remember Cilla's latter years, when she fronted such programmes as Surprise Surprise and Blind Date. Those of us who grew up in the 60s will remember what a fantastic singer she was, hopefully some of the rest of us may have seen the excellent biopic ITV did a year or so back, starring Sheridan Smith. It was all true.
My usual Shadows Club meeting was a bit subdued this evening. We had a minutes silence, then they asked me to play You're My World. Strangely enough, I hadn't played it for a couple of years, then brought it out of retirement for last month's meeting, and normally I wouldn't play anything 2 months running. I was glad to play it again though, made a nice tribute.
