Automatic car for bad back?

Anyone any experience of whether changing to an automatic is better for lower back pain?

Higher seats is defintely better for me and I'm about to change from a VW Tiguan to an Audi Q3.

Definitely.. I had a BMW previous to my current Focus ST, and I must admit..getting caught in long traffic queues and subsequent use of the clutch can aggravate my back!

I am thinking of selling my ST and getting another auto for this reason.

• Though...I will put up with the pain when it comes to driving my TVR.

I find heated seats help too!

Yep, gotta have heated seats, and powered as well if poss.

Waynester - I also manage to put up with it in the TVR - got to be done!

I agree about the heated seats and lumbar support is a necessity for me. However, I don't want an auto for two reasons...

1: Without a gearstick to use, my left hand gets bored.

2. Using a clutch pedal is good exercise for a dodgy back. Use it or lose it!
