They paid £149,000 for it.
That is one hell of a mark up! Greedy bar stewards; I reckon the previous owner must be a little miffed that they have added 40k to the purchase price - I bet they were told that only resale it for 160-165.Had a similar issue with JZM a while ago - they bought a car back off me after 3months saying they didn't really want to do sale or return as it wouldn't be worthwhile - then they sold it the same day they took it in for 150% more. It meant that I would never ever deal with them again as the trust was gone. Whereas I have a friend who buys and sells through them regularly and he is always happy with the deal he gets.

Do you mean 50% more rather than 150% moreHad a similar issue with JZM a while ago - they bought a car back off me after 3months saying they didn't really want to do sale or return as it wouldn't be worthwhile - then they sold it the same day they took it in for 150% more. 150% more means that they sold it for two and a half times the amount of money that they paid you for the car!!

Is it really an issue as long as you're happy with the price you receive??Had a similar issue with JZM a while ago - they bought a car back off me after 3months saying they didn't really want to do sale or return as it wouldn't be worthwhile - then they sold it the same day they took it in for 150% more. Also, didn't you wonder why a dealer was happy to sink their own money into a car that apparently wasn't worth their while on SOR?

I think they already had the buyer set up. I was turned over and it left a very bitter taste.
But was you or was you not happy with the price you sold it to them for?I'm assuming you were? Would you have been happier if it sat on their forecourt for six months?
It's just business, they are in it to make money for their own end.......
The gen II's have been considered the more desirable of the 2 cars for the last 5 years or so but just recently the feelings towards Gen I's seem to be much more positive. Also I don't see many Gen I's for sale whereas there are always quite a few Gen II's for sale. Maybe this has something to do with the recent price movements for each model?
