Council's storm over a G-string

Clothes must be worn until the 'final flourish'
Lap-dancers in Leeds have to remain covered up until the final seconds of their performance, council rules say.
The city council's licensing panel met on Tuesday to discuss regulations. Club owners had feared that nude dancing would be banned altogether.

But it was decided dancers must begin routines covered by at least a G-string or pouch which could be removed during the dance, but replaced at the end.

The rules were introduced to protect dancers and customers, say the council.

Conservative councillor Ronnie Feldman, chairman of the licensing panel, said he had never been to any of the venues.

There will be no nude dancing for any length of time apart from a flourish in the final seconds

Cllr Ronnie Feldman
But he said the discussion came about as the old regulations for entertainment licences had not been made to include lap-dancing clubs.

"Most of our clubs had their own regulations which could vary a little," he said.

"We decided it would be better if we had our own rules."

Lawyers from three of the city's five clubs attended the meeting and were happy with the decision, he added.

"It means there will be no nude dancing for any length of time apart from a flourish in the final seconds," he said."

"Flourish"

So they have to wear a thong or whatever at the start and end, but not during. No, they have to wear it throughout, but not right at the end.

Make up your minds!

What the hell is happening to the world. We have nut bars that have warnings 'may contain nuts' and now warnings that strip clubs may involve nudity. WTF.

reminds me very much of the people trying to ban the brass eye documentary a few years ago despite the fact that none had ever even seen it. if youre gonna make rules and legislation at least do your homework FFS.

Never been, my ass! Upon mention of his job he could have received several VIP nights, gratis. However he may not want his wife to know just how much research he put into his work. Not exactly blood, sweat and tears but I wouldn't like to list the liquids that were involved.

Disclaimer: These comments are made purely in jest. I do not know if he is married, but if he is, he is certainly a noble husband, entirely averse to any acts of moral turpitude. I would like to make it clear that I consider this man to be of fine and upstanding character, not fond of such establishments.
