(From ITV-F1.com)

Minardi have signed Israeli Chanoch Nissany as an official test driver for the 2005 season.

The announcement creates a piece of motorsport history for the Middle Eastern country, just 24 hours after the news that Narain Karthikeyan is on the verge of becoming India’s first ever F1 driver.

Nissany does not fit the profile of a typical F1 aspirant. The Budapest resident is 41 years old and, instead of cutting his teeth pounding around karting tracks, only took up motorsport competitively three years ago.

Right then, where's me helmet??

it's probably less likely that he's asking for money as he's giving minardi a whole lot of cash in sponsorship.

Maybe it's a typo: "Minardi chooses Nissany instead of Fordy"

I'll bet that fella is a few million quid lighter of pocket now and Minardi has a new set of wheels.

I see trouble brewing! ,,,who gets what space in the garage? He'll take the bigger plot and let the rest of the team have the remainder but then dispute it later and try to reclaim it!

Surprised they didn't sign up Paul Newman. He's only 81 and still racing!

He'd probably be a lot quicker than this bloke!
