I gave a work colleague my old Passat roof bars thinking he may give me a bottle of wine or something for them then today he produced this!

His father in law did some work for AML way back then and was given it when he was taken on an impromptu tour of the Newport Pagnell factory. He stored it somewhere very safe for 45 years and they found it when he passed away recently. It is dated 1969 and looks completely mint to my untrained eye. Few pages as examples below:

So does this sort of thing have any value? Is anyone on here interested in it? Should I just put it on ebay or should I keep hold of it as a nice piece of Aston Martin history? Decisions, decisions …….

interesting find....value wise...dunno....an owner of a 1969 dbs would probaly pay top dollar for it though....i would certainly want one to add orginality to my car if i had one...

Very nice. Deffo keep it. And think how lucky you are not to do the servicing dvery 500 miles!

As for value... well Aston still sell them new, so unless you can identify it with a particular car, and that car still exists, and the owner wants it, then its value is limited

My own decision would be to keep it.
A delightful piece of Newport Pagnell history.

I think Bonhams have sold one or two in the past, kind of GBP60-70.

Personally I'd keep it, as its a nice bit of automobilia. But its also likely to go up in value as the prices for the DBS are going skywards pushing it into collector territory (shame). And as those values go up so will the instruction book, as any owner who doesn't still have the original will pay up for one.

(PS if your friend also finds an original DB5 jack or toolkit in his garage, those are now going for £1k+)

Thanks for the comments all. I'm thinking I will keep it but I will just pop along to Aston Engineering sometime to see what they think as they are local to me.
