because of the gearbox problem I needed to access the area where the linkage joins to the gearbox shaft and the dash central console is in the way - as that part of the console was damaged previously (the whole dash is a lot crap anyway with the blue 'leather' peeling!)I cut it off. Now just carpeted I think it looks better than before. The new 'free issue' carpet looks better than' everything dark blue' too, although my carpet fitting skills didn't match the requirements. Work in progress as they say.

Hi Mick.
Have you put carpet onto the body, have had to do mine in two but going to cover both bits so it looks like one piece.

Yep just cut the carpet to shape and then spray glued into position. You can see the plate that has the gearleaver gaiter which is screwed down and has it's own carpet. Not quite as invisible as I intended, but allows access to the linkage.

You can't remove all those duplicate posts and then act all confused over the micky taking.

Alan - they were just taking the P because my phone posted the TF reply 3 times and I hadn't realised until later when I removed the duplicates.

I would never take the P would I tongue outtype

Hi Geoffrey,
Aerosol cans of spray adhesive are available from any good DIY shops or hardware stores.
Simple to use, just spray it on to the surfaces to be stuck together, allow a few minutes until it "tacks off", then join them and apply pressure.
Job done! smile
