Very excited have till Monday to make any alterations then it's locked in !

Mineral grey with black leather and oyster stitching
M sport plus package
Pro Nav
Elec and heated seats
Elec wing mirrors
Sunroof
Tow bar
Head up display

Think that's it but quite a good spec I thought.

Only change I'm considering is colours. The mineral grey suits the new bit orbit alloys as the bit between the polished parts is also mineral grey. Thinking about coral red leather to make a little less dull

Delivery hopefully in Sept.

Dealer said the 340i sounds sooooo much better than the 335i and has had some major handling improvements

Excited to say the least

I'd stick. Red has an instant appeal, for sure, but in the long term , you could go off it. That my 2 cents. Enjoy the anticipation and then the drive smile

I'd spec the other 19" wheels that have been the 19" option on the F30 since release. The new design look awful IMO.

I'd look at that individual Champagne Quartz too, just for something a bit different, and not daft money.

Just looking at your post in GG. FYI the LCI has LED's not Xenon's. This is solely the reason I've gone for a F31 myself instead of another F36.

Spec wise, only thing I'd add myself is adaptive lights as part of the M Sport Plus, but I live in the sticks. Also add the £45.00 sliding armrest as IMO it's nicer as far forward as possible.

It's my first car that I have ever purchased as new... Unfortunately (if you can call it that) the only reason it is new is due to works car policy having a car newer than 5 years and with most finance being 3-5years it makes no sense buying second hand.

But because it's new I'm faced with choices. Ultimately I want a colour that doesn't look filthy as soon as it's been cleaned eg black (even though I like black). The estoril blue can look a bit milky. Red is a contender but may effect resale value plus my wife's 1 series is red so fancy some diversity. White looks good but again come winter time it will never look clean. Silver is a bit blurgh. Leaving mineral grey which I wasn't sure on until I saw it against the new wheels that will be fitted on the lci. The individual colours are good but citrine black looks brown in sunlight, the others are a bit smokers jacket. Loved the pics online of tanzanite blue however in normal light it looks a really flat blue.

So mineral grey looks like a good choice. Just weighing up the interior colour choice.

Putting the dust issues aside a black exterior with black leather and piano black trim would look menacing.

Shame they don't do carbon black.

Are LEDs as good as Xenon? I've got them on my current Mazda 6 Sport and they are fantastic. Can't imagine not having them now. Wonder if LEDs are yet another step forward?

My F31 is Mineral Grey and I went with the Oyster/Black interior. Personally I think it looks a bit classier than black leather albeit it does demand a little more effort to keep it looking nice (nothing excessive though, just a regular wipe over each time you clean the car). I didn't actually consider silver for the exterior colour but having seen one or two silver F31's around I think I might have been too quick to dismiss it; looks quite good IMO, especially with the high gloss shadow line exterior trim on the M-Sport and the dark glass with the panoramic roof. Enjoy the car when it arrives, good engine choice!

The Autocar review, discussed on this forum, suggests that they have managed to make the handling worse than the pre-LCI car, which was pretty average at best. Luckily that can probably be solved fairly cheaply. I wouldn't take the dealer's view too seriously - he is trying to get you to part with some cash after all.

The engine will be interesting, and I look forward to hearing how it performs.

Sounds a nice spec, but make sure you have High Beam Assist on LED lights - an amazing bit of technology.

They are the next step on from xenon and laser is the next step on from LED, where will it end!

The difference between halogen and xenon is night and day (if you pardon the pun) I wonder what size the step on is from xenon to LED and then to Laser.

All the reviews have been with variable steering which they all hated and ultimately ruined their review of it. I'll wait and see as I haven't ordered the variable steering so I'm hoping it is an improvement, however I shan't be taking it on any track days so I'm sure it will be fine.

SBN dont want to be a party pooper really dont just trying to maybe save you some heartache, Does it have Standard SE suspension ? If it does please go and have a test drive with this suspension ,corner it ,brake hard ,get on the outside lane of a motorway do the lot you wont need a track day to see if you find it acceptable,I found it awful in every respect

.....and on a lot of comments after Autocar/express tests of BMWs etc a lot of people said that all the test cars are allways on Adaptive and the Standard ( not M sport ) suspension is not very good.

EDITED maybe better in an Estate who knows

I think the 340i is only available in the UK in M-Sport trim with RWD; therefore, unless you make a conscious decision to delete it, the car will come with sports suspension. I agree the SE set-up is a bit soft for fast road work (so personally I wouldn't delete the standard sports suspension) and hence with a 340i I think the only real decision to make is whether or not you opt for adaptive suspension (and TBH I'm not really sure you need that if you're running sports suspension on the standard 18" wheels).

There are some BIG discounts for this car on the normal broker sites. Makes it cheaper than the 135 or a Golf...

Sorry.. Yes UK 340i are all m sport with m sport suspension for the touring models.

Adaptive I have read good things about but only on the xdrive is it seen as a must otherwise most feel all rwd (which the 340i is) are ok and don't require this. However I did have it on my m3 which is a different beast all together to an m sport set up.

Cheers

After sitting in a new 3-Series today with coral red leather that would be my choice. I've always worried it would be a bit overbearing but it really isn't.
