Hi again,

Think it's time to scratch a Rolex itch I've had for a while.

Lots of options on Oyster Peps, both stainless and gold and steel but I can't make my mind up about the age. Would quiet like to have an older model from the 50/60's or my birth year .....am I mad and should I just get the newest I can find?

Not mad at all - I think they are really nice.

They are smaller than most modern watched so if you can get your head round that then they are great.

There are lots to choose from and they're very nice looking watches. I picked up a 1951 Oysterdate a couple of years ago and have been very pleased with it. Manual wind version but keeps good time. Great value watch for when I fancy something vintage.

Have a look at Austin Kaye (near Charing Cross) they usually have a few in stock, plus of course Hackett Watches (no connection etc etc).

Good luck in your search.

There's no reason I can think of to worry about the age of the watch.

Go for birth year!
