He's definitely lost some weight. His race suite was hanging off him.

.......and yes there are pictures on BBC of a draped coffin. Have a search if that floats your boat.

Do think it's sad for the family but I suppose on the other side of the coin, you have a right to know who your father is.

That coffin looks in remarkably good condition if it's been in the ground for 20 years.

As for feeling sad for his family - never married, no declared children - that's the whole point for the exercise.... to find the family.

To obtain the money would be more my guess, as a cynic....

It has been on a 'shelf' in the family crypt....

There's a bit of a wider family other than an alleged son.

Wasn't it all given to the Fangio musuem? I don't think theres any money left. I think one of the descendents fancies himself a Racing driver and wants to use the Fangio name (see Senna, B.)

I believe that's the case. Imagine the marketing opportunities! Fangio Snr's money (if there is any) isn't the issue here. If someone is proved to be 'Fangio Jnr' then they'll get some serious sponsorship to help them into a 'pay-to-drive' position. I can visualise the orgy of branded promotional materials and poncey pseudo-historic 30 second films already!

The only team who'll be signing him up are Stannah.

Sure he's young enough for NASCAR!

I'm not a doctor, but I can see definate resemblance. Fangio was old and wrinkly. This guy is old and wrinkly. Makes you think...

Don't all Argentinians looks like that, slightly shifty ;-)

I think my Dad would quite fancy a Stannah Fangio "Beat your bladder" setting could be popular.

I don't know whether Fangio had a love of Ireland, those Argie people are always on about Ireland these days, maybe they love Guinness?
