Jessie, my cat, run over

I was just leaving the family home when the neighbours asked me if I had a grey cat. It was Jessie, in a blanket, covered in blood and with laboured breathing.

They kindly drove me to a RSPCA hospital who dealt with her straight away. The kids and their mum joined me all in tears.

The nurse has said it's not good. She has a broken jaw, broken cheek bones and possibly is blind and they have no idea yet about internal injuries. If she gets through the night she will have to be moved to our vet's hospital.

I feel numb and have just posted on here as it was you guys who helped and advised me when I got her and her brother Benny when they were only 6 weeks old, over 3 years ago.

She is such a lovely, beautiful looking cat. So friendly and has always been into whatever I am doing, whether it's fixing the car or putting up shelves, unlike her brother who disappears all day and just comes back for food

My boy's hamster died this morning and he was beside himself and I was thinking how he would take it if one of the cats got hurt. Didn't really want to find out a few hours later.

. Horrible to deal with the aftermath of an rta but try and think positive, she survived the initial trauma. If she can get through the night those chances increase. Most of the injuries you have have listed are fixable, it is way too early to know if she is blind, she'll have been.in severe shock and poor response as a result. Even if her sight is affected she will adapt.

I know what it is like, been through it with my own cat, 4 months of intensive treatment got her through it.

I feel for you having to help your children's through this aswell, just remember to be gentle but honest with them about her, keeping my fingers crossed.

She's stable so I'm at the RSPCA hospital waiting to take her to our Vet's hospital.

Not seen her yet and no one has said anything.

You could ask to see her (there can be good reasons for advising against it though. Esp at this stage). Has a vet spoken to you if not they should do soon (I mean make sure they do)
