Flashing little snowflake.

One of the warning lights on my 98 Chim is flashing intermittently. Its the bottom one of the group between the two main clocks with what appears to be a snowflake symbol. Really can't remember what it is and I can't find the owners manual. Anyone help?

It's the external temperature warning I think, should come on below 3deg or so.

Thanks, I suspected as such, if a little sophisticated for a TVR. All I need now is to locate the temperature sender.

Mine only comes on with the ignition.....not even a flicker at -5
Agree that it should come on about 3deg should all be fine with the sensor

I believe it lives in a little cutout scoop under the nose.

Unplanned overnight stay due to being forced into consuming alcohol Al Got up next morning and the world was white... Main roads were a bit slippery, back roads were lethal, and then had to suffer the indignity of a woman heavily laden with shopping bags telling me that I'd never get it up my drive (after several unsuccessful attempts) because it was rear wheel drive. Had a few sideways moments in the snow at walking pace, ttting the kerb was the problem because you couldn't see them but we did make it safely home

Mine comes on green at about +5 degrees and changes to red just above zero.

Shame there's so few answers.........most of the fair weather owners won't have a clue what we are talking about, as their cars are tucked up in bed until the thermometer is above 15 degrees

That's true, I had to think back to some dark cold night when mine did its job and told me it's getting bloody cold now, ice watch out sort of thing, must have been 4 years ago

Guilty as charged mi'lud. I haven't a clue if it even works on mine. In fact the TIV only swung a leg out of the old four poster a few weeks ago.

If it's faulty you can cut the sensor off and then strip the wires back and wind them together to close the circuit and put the light out as it works on a open circuit.

After experiencing a snowy commute through backroads, I decided that if the button was iced up so I couldn't get in, rather than de-ice it, take the other car.

mine has the earlier 2 led warning..

1) both green :- Its a little cold be very careful
2) 1 green 1 red:- I wouldn't if it were you this thing handles like a sledge in the snow
3) both red :- call the ambulance and fire brigade now as your going to need them

actually the car also had a special feature to prevent you driving it when both were red: the door locks would freeze so you couldn't get in
