Here's one for you artistic types out there with too much time on your hands

If you've been following the story of my sorry life, you'll know that my 3R is up for sale and an M400 is one of several possible replacements that I'm considering (also GT3 and Ultima Can-Am).

The M400 that I'm looking at is in Larch Silver (stop groaning at the back) and we all know that silver is BORING so how about a two-tone paint job? Looking at the car in profile I can't see any obvious natural lines to make the join, but let's see what you can do with a few minutes in Photoshop...

First thought was to paint the back-half of the car in the new Viper Steel dark grey, kind of sloping down towards the front... perhaps the anthracite alloys on the back and polished on the front... too bling?

Marlon, of course there's a natural line/crease for a stripe - starting at the front take the inside of the vent louvre (approx. 3 foot wide stripe) and follow this all the way back - works fine!

Dan has a "Viper stripe" stripes on his blue car - photo is here somewhere.

Can't visualise an attractive two tone paint job on this (or many!) cars! They seem a bit contrived on anything but a racing car with full on sponsorship decals etc.

Rob - I have viper stripes (see profile), but I don't think thats what hes suggesting!

I don't know, Dan, I think Polynesian metalic over Polynesian metalic would look bloody good!

Martin.

Fair enough, but two-tone went out in the early 70s
