Empyrion - Galactic Survival (New Survival / Crafting Game)

Bought this game on Steam earlier and been putting a bit of time into it. As is the case with a lot of games these days, its still very much in early access, but its a fairly solid game so far.

The premise is you've crashed your shuttle on a planet and you have to survive. This involves the usual mining, crafting walls, building a base, collecting food, all that typical stuff, but the nice feature is once you have repaired your ship you can blast off into space and can go to the other planets and look around there. Then you aim to build giant space ships in orbit and will eventually be able to fly around the universe, fight other people and visit new star systems. Its a bit of a cross between ARK and Space Engineers I suppose, and it will be interesting to see how far the game can go. The crafting side of things is quite long though, having to build many components in order to build larger pieces of equipment, but it makes sense and may be more streamlined in the future.

Its cheap at the moment at about £13, so if these survival crafting games are your thing I'd say its worth a punt.

Currently £7.49 on Steam. Lots of comparisons to No Man's Sky and Space Engineers, with a bit of Minecraft thrown in.
