Why used VW Passat are so cheap???
Discussion
This is a genuine question.
I am looking for a "new" used car. I would like diesel car as every day commute transport and for the last almost two weeks I am "looking" around.
The same year (lets say 2007/2008) Audi's, BMW's, C Class Merc's are all at least £3000 more for the same mileage, condition etc. There are quite a few VW Passat with high end spec compare to the rest of the Germans rivals and regardless that they still cost a lot less? Are they any serious issues with the Passat? Even if there are what about Audi's?? They are using the same engines, platforms are they not?
Am I missing something here?
Cheers

Bmw, Audi, etc cost a lot more new and hold their value better as premium brands
Plus, there are loads and loads and loads of ex fleet Passats about.
Good cars, but pretty boring. I drive one every day.
I think this is the answer to my question lol. I was not aware that they are many fleet Passats. This explain a lot. Plus, there are loads and loads and loads of ex fleet Passats about.
