Refitting distributor

Just finalising stuff before putting the body back on
I am following the book and can anyone tell me does it matter what cylinder you install the distributor on The book shows position of rotor arm but doesn't mention which cylinder, or am I missing something ?

Cylinder 1 at tdc firing stroke will need to correspond with distributor firing on No 1 cylinder.

you can nominate any lead on the cap as No.1 and connect the rest accordingly but just as easy to use the correct connection marked as No.1 ?


Obviously with the crank turning twice to every camshaft rotation it is quite easy to get the dizzy 180 degrees out.
