I need to find a particular type of steel strap hook so I can have a replacement luggage strap made up for a classic car from the 70s.
I've been trawling Google Images trying to find something close enough but have actually found nothing. All the hooks I have found are straight cut not triangular.
So, as this was a Wood & Pickett strap for a Range Rover Classic then it will have been a generic product taken from somewhere, so the big PH question is who recognises this hook and where else did they see it in use?

I suspect that it's not an off the peg item (tee hee).
I'm willing to bet that the apex of the hook is the same width as the hasp that it hooks into. That would suggest it was specifically made for purpose. And I'd suggest that making new ones will be your only option.
They're not a complex shape though.

The part that is hidden is just a generic twin slot plate for strapping. I know what you mean re the picture hook http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PACK-OF-PICTURE-RAIL-MOU...

It almost certainly will have been parts bin. W&P would never have had these items made. It was for the run of 200 limited edition In Vogues. To give you an example, the other end just used the brass carpet eye from the Suffix A trims and that hooked into one of those acorn headed bolts from a Series Land Rover. The steel loop that this mystery hook hooked onto is just one of the webbing loops from the rear tray of a Land Rover.
There isn't a single metal part of the upgrade kit that wasnt grabbed from somewhere else.
As you say, it'll be easy enough to get something made but someone out there will know exactly where these were nicked from and PH tends to be a pretty impressive resource for random, irrelevant information from the past that suddenly becomes important to a single person.
